Why the Cleaning Up Hunger Program Was Created

Founded in June of 2016 by Larado and Jennifer Bulkley the owners of ACS Facility Services.

Both individuals have personal stories regarding the need for solving hunger concerns in the communities in which they both live and do business. The deep desire to help solve these concerns and be able to contribute on a larger scale, sustaining a bigger impact - gave birth to the idea of partnering with their clients to collect donations. The goal then became to feed greater than 1 million families.

Food Collection and Distribution

As a certified collection partner, ACS Facility Services places hunger barrels with other Community Rockstar brick-and-mortar businesses located in the communities we serve. As partners, they become a willing food collection location. ACS Facility Services facilitates the drop-off and pick-up of the hunger barrels. The collected donations are then dropped off at a local certified distribution partner in the local community of the collection location, 2 of our local distribution partners are partner are Turning Point and Catholic Charities.

Where is the Program Headed

Since 2016 the program has had a great response from the founder's business Client's, however, the owners soon realized the program needed more participants in order for it to reach its goal of feeding greater than 1 million families. Since the global shutdown of 2020-2021 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the program has struggled to get its barrels back out into the businesses. So, this year it began reaching out beyond just its business client's facilities and straight into the local business community. Larado Bulkley, CEO has been working on creating CLEANING UP HUNGER as a global foundation and is expanding it into his personal network of fellow entrepreneurs and business affiliates from around the world who qualify for partnering. He's just landed his first National Network Partner --Precision Pro Wash , an exterior cleaning company with branches located throughout the US. A new website landing page is coming soon - it will show a map in real-time of where the barrels are located and how many pounds of donations have been collected. 7 Step Easy Community Rockstar Partner Onboarding Process

  • Agree to participate in our program to feed the hungry in the communities we serve, especially, the children and elderly in need.
  • Choose two months in the current calendar year your organization would like to participate. The barrels will be on site for two weeks each time.
  • Schedule the flexible drop-off and pick-up dates for the barrels.
  • Send out the templated email to your staff, encouraging them to participate and give back. (Post flyers with our infographics around the work site)
  • We deliver and place the barrel in the designated location. (Start of the month or mid-month)
  • We pick up the barrel. You receive a participation certificate and take photos with a company representative. (End of the2 week duration)
  • We deliver to our partnering distributor and post your picture on social media to tell the world how absolutely cool your organization is and email you out your donation receipt.
