Carpet America Recovery Effort Announces New Board Members

Amelia Island, FL - The Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) announced its 2011 board of directors at the group''s ninth Annual Conference held April 27 through April 29 at Amelia Island Plantation, Amelia Island, Florida. The carpet recycling organization reelected two board veterans and added two new faces to its 17-member board.

Ron Greitzer, president of Los Angeles Fiber and Reliance Carpet Cushion and Sean Ragiel, president of New Jersey-based CarpetCycle were reelected to represent the entrepreneur community.

Thomas Holland, President and owner of Texas Carpet Recycling and Corporate Floors (a Starnet dealer) also joined the board as an entrepreneur. Mr. Holland joined CARE in 2006 and founded Texas Carpet Recycling shortly thereafter. He has participated as a panel and session speaker at subsequent CARE conferences and attended the 2010 Entrepreneurs'' Meeting. In his own community, Mr. Holland presents CEU courses about carpet recycling to the Dallas/Fort Worth design and construction professionals. He has also been involved in Starnet in both the environmental and maintenance committees.

Sheri Gorman, sales professional with New York-area carpet dealer and recycler RD Weiss Companies joins the CARE board as an at-large member. Ms. Gorman, a LEED AP with a background in interior design, established an annual Earth Day carpet sample and sample book recycling initiative at RD Weiss.

"I am immensely pleased to add Tom and Sheri to the CARE board. Their knowledge of carpet recycling, both on the technical and business sides, will benefit us greatly," said CARE Executive Director Georgina Sikorski. Ms. Sikorski also expressed her gratitude to departing board members Paul Ashman, Matt Ewadinger and Bob Peoples. "These men were invaluable contributors to shaping the structure and vision of CARE. Much of CARE''s success can be directly attributed to their hard work and leadership."

The CARE board of directors represents members from the carpet industry, retail, government and entrepreneur communities.

About CARE

CARE was formed as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding for Carpet Stewardship (MOU), a national agreement signed by members of the carpet industry, representatives of government agencies at the federal, state and local levels and non-governmental organizations. CARE works to develop market-based solutions for recovering value from discarded carpet in order to facilitate the achievement of the organization''s ultimate goal of a 40% diversion rate of post consumer carpet from the nation''s landfills. For more information or to learn more about how to recycle used carpet, visit the Care website at www.carpetrecovery.org.
