After owning her own restaurant, Saenz came to 4M Building Solutions as a restroom cleaner. Within five years, she has worked herself up to assistant account manager. Saenz loves what she does, and one can easily tell by her attitude and smile. “This is something I never imagined,” says Saenz. “I’m just an ordinary person, doing what I love to do, which is cleaning. That’s my passion. And I love the people I work for.”Saenz is a highly dependable, punctual and efficient employee. She has demonstrated solid leadership and initiative in addressing difficult problems. She also has a particularly strong record of success in prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines. It is in her nature to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. Customers praise her cheerful demeanor, as well as her patience and tact in times of conflict. “We get more compliments on her incredible attitude and work ethic. She always has a smile, is always the first one to help with special needs,” says Tim Murch, president and owner of 4M. “We’re very blessed to have team members like Mary. She represents 4M and our industry as well as she possibly could.”In her family life, Saenz helped to raise 12 children and now is a grandmother of 14 — two of whom also work for 4M.This is the sixth time an employee from 4M has been recognized by BSCAI for excellence. “I always tell our team members that our hourly workers are our most important in the company,” says Murch. “We always need to remember how important they are in representing our company.” 

New Member Of The Year Award

This award is given to a new member company that has exhibited an active involvement in BSCAI through its committee involvement, event attendance, participation in the certification program, regional event attendance, and an overall active involvement and positive impact on the association. This year’s winner is CleanOffice, Chantilly, Virginia.CleanOffice is a full-service building service contractor servicing the Washington, D.C., metro area. The company originated in 2002 with the acquisition of Tysons Building Maintenance. New owner Greg Buchner instantly injected new enthusiasm into the company and set out to transform it into a strong, regional service provider. In 15 years, CleanOffice has grown to more than 325 employees and 200 accounts. In 2015, CleanOffice made an important decision to fully invest itself in BSCAI and the array of activities and support programs that it has available to members. This includes participation in a peer group of BSCAI members that offers the operators of each company the ability to strategize in a collaborative environment. “CleanOffice looks forward to expanding its role in BSCAI as it continues to grow and achieve new milestones,” says Buchner.
