Bally’s Las Vegas will be the site of the International Executive Housekeepers Association’s (IEHA) 51st Conference and Convention. Slated to run from Sept. 11 to 16, the event is co-located with ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America (Sept. 11 to 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center) and will provide executives of housekeeping and custodial departments with the latest in management techniques, product information, and advice from industry leaders and vendors designed to help achieve operational efficiencies and work more effectively with staff and personnel. “This year, IEHA will have topics on motivating your team, infection control and leadership (among others), leading to 13 hours of available continuing education units (CEUs) to our membership,” says Michael Patterson, executive director of IEHA. “This year is also historic for in that after 18 years of being co-location partners with ISSA, the Board of Directors and membership approved a formal merger with ISSA that became effective July 1,” Patterson continues. “The Board of Directors is extremely excited about this merger and the benefits, resources and power it will bring to our membership and profession.” Thanks to access to ISSA’s resources, Patterson anticipates membership growth and the ability to offer more education. IEHA membership will now include global ISSA membership and benefits, including greater marketing exposure and increased networking opportunities, as well as access to a broader array of business tools, data and industry information. “In addition, we will continue to enhance our Professional Education Credentialing Program (PECP),” says Patterson. “IEHA is now known as ‘IEHA – A Division of ISSA.’ We’re moving forward and the sky is the limit.” Members attending the 2017 convention will notice more than a name change. The educational focus will be bigger and better than ever before.
