New England Institute of Restoration & Cleaning (NEIRC)
Submitted by Karen Regan

The New England Institute of Restoration & Cleaning (NEIRC) held its annual meeting at ARS where members learned about the power of using Constant Contact and Social media.

Dan Bernazzani did a great job teaching us about carpet inspection services.

We also held our annual spring golf tournament and board meeting at the Heritage Country Club in Charleston, MA. The board reviewed our strong financial standings and voted to join the national chapter program: Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Association (ICRA).

"We at the NEIRC are very excited to be partnering with ICRA. For over 50 years the NEIRC has strived to consistently partner with people, companies and associations that would most benefit our association members. We look forward to the future with extreme optimism that this partnership will be beneficial for all parties involved," said Matt Critz, senior vice president of the NEIRC.

Carpet Cleaners Institute of the Northwest (CCINW)
Submitted by Jane O''Haleck

Since trade associations are supposed to be dedicated to helping members better compete, we''re sure our Carpet Cleaners Institute of the Northwest (CCINW) members have advantages over the average company.

Unlike some associations that were started and are run by people with something to sell to cleaners, we''ve always been dedicated to nothing other than the betterment of our members: First, second and always.

The CCINW was started over 50 years ago by cleaners, and while we welcome the help and advice we get from our friendly vendors, we''re still run by cleaners. Our founding members wrote a code of ethics that we still adhere to today, and the CCINW has earned a reputation for integrity and good character in our work with our members and with our industry partners.

Today the CCINW is looking forward to a new partnership working with the IICRC, and other associations with similar values, to launch the IICRC''s new International Trade Association.

Carpet and FabriCare Institute (CFI)
Submitted by Matt Cole

Here is a special message from Graham Bedwell, your outgoing president.

As the 2012 Connections sees the Carpet and FabriCare Institute (CFI) hold its annual general meeting, it is a time for reflection. My two years as president is up, and I hand over the reins to a new president, Mr. Steve Kaufman.

Steve has been associated with CFI for many years and I know that his tenure will be successful and exciting.

My two years has not been easy as we have had many conflicts to deal with and I feel we have dealt with them in a professional manner, which CFI is known for, but we also have had success.

We had a tremendous customer appreciation day held at The Academy of Flooring & Textiles by kind permission of our gracious host Bobbie Williams.

Recently, we held a Cleaning College which we co-hosted with our great friends to the North, CCINW. I thank their president, Mr. Dan Joner, and the CCINW crew, and also I would like to thank all of our industry friends who have supported all of our Chapter meetings.

Finally, I have to say a big thanks to my board of directors, Matt Cole, Terrance Jones, James Casas, Josh Adler, Lisa Wagner and our incoming president Mr. Steve Kaufman and, of course, I must not forget our-behind-the-scenes person Kim Cole.

Without their hard work and dedication, there would be no CFI.

Although I step down as president I will still be involved as I take over as chairman for one year, so you will still see me around.
